(National Research Council & Institute of Medicine 2000, p.27)
DESCRIPTION:
This course is a comprehensive guide for teachers and support teams, covering aspects of planning for lessons and teaching resources, environment, and behavior. It will also provide you with a good foundational knowledge and understanding of RAD.
Given that approximately 1-2 % of the population officially carries a diagnosis of RAD, and many more individuals may have the condition undiagnosed, it's evident that educators in inclusive classrooms are highly likely to encounter students with RAD. Consequently, teachers and support staff must recognize that managing behaviors consistent with RAD will be a regular aspect of their daily classroom challenges.
At times, these behaviors may impede learning and contribute to an unwelcoming and stressful classroom environment. This holds for numerous learners across all age groups who are affected by RAD.
Numerous studies have demonstrated that when educators are well-informed about RAD, student outcomes greatly benefit. This insightful course provides valuable strategies to support students and caregivers with RAD in various aspects, including behavior management, classroom environment optimization, lesson planning, study skills enhancement, and overcoming learning barriers.
